Blake Ledbetter, Culinary Director for Whole Foods Market, has over 20 years of experience in the food industry. Born and bred on a crop farm in Southeast Missouri, Blake developed a love for food and an unwavering appreciation for the farm-to-table model at a very young age. He experienced how challenging growing crops can be and learned firsthand the hard work that farming requires.
A student athlete at his alma mater, Southeast Missouri State, Blake was later drafted to be a professional baseball player. After baseball, Blake chose to pursue his life-long passion and attend culinary school in the Washington, D.C., area. His culinary career began at The Evening Star Café and Vermilion, both part of the Neighborhood Restaurant Group, in in Old Town Alexandria. Blake worked his way up to Executive Chef status in the restaurant industry prior to joining Whole Foods Market as a Store Team Leader 12 years ago.
When he’s not busy concocting delicious dishes to serve up in Whole Foods Market stores, you can find Blake enjoying time with his wife, Alison, and two daughters, Lily and Emily. An avid offshore fisherman, live music junkie, and traveler, Blake doesn’t take South Florida living for granted.
