Chef Kedon “Slim” Carter
Born and raised in Jamaica, Chef Kedon "Slim" Carter found his calling to cuisine early on in life. Coming from a long lineage of chefs in his family, Chef Slim developed a passion for crafting unique flavors in healthy foods that are fresh, sustainable, and delicious.
In 2020, SoBe Vegan welcomed Chef Slim to the team as Corporate Chef. Ardent about bringing colorful flavors to our customers, Chef Slim has been influential in developing our delicious menu items. He is a strong and motivated leader with expertise in inventory control, team building, and cost reduction.
Chef Slim began his culinary career as a line cook with Gran Bahia in 2007. After several years of cultivating his skills in the kitchen, he decided to switch gears and bring his talents to the sunshine state.
In 2013, Chef Slim joined the R.E.D. Stripe Café and Lounge team as Chef, where he was responsible for duties such as managing connections with suppliers and leading the back of house team to be successful in running a smooth operation.
Later on, Chef Slim was brought on as Chef de Cuisine at Margaritaville Hollywood BeachResort, where he led teams through routine operations and unexpected challenges with strong decision-making skills and expert culinary knowledge.
Chef Slim is a dedicated father to his four-year-old daughter, Madisyn. He is passionate about instilling his family’s love for cooking within the South Florida community and creating fresh, healthy, exceptionally delicious foods.
