Exposed to a whirlwind of flavors from a young age, Rahul Khopkar, son of a Korean mother and Indian Father, inherited his passion for food and travel from his family. Working in restaurants as a bartender, and then a line cook, Rahul honed his culinary skills before heading to Los Angeles to pursue a passion in film. A part time job as a line cook at Ilan Hall's The Gorbals during film school inspired Rahul to attend The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in Napa Valley. Upon graduation Rahul honed his skills in the kitchens of Lucques and Archetype, before landing a job at renowned Noma in Copehnhagen. While in Denmark, Rahul decided to pursue a vegan ramen concept he was working on, and set out to open the world’s first, 100 percent vegan ramen shop. Ramen Hood was born in 2015 in Los Angeles.
