Green Bar & Kitchen and Field Roast Win Best Veggie Burger in America
The competition was FIERCE at last night's Fourth Annual Plant Based Burger Battle, with some of the nation's top chefs and eateries grilling up incredibly creative sandwich creations.
But in the end, the judge's chose Green Bar & Kitchen and Field Roast's BAD (Breakfast All Day) burger as the Best Veggie Burger in America!
The celebrity judge lineup included Marco Borges of 22 Days Nutrition, Marco Regil of Telemundo, Karla Dascal of The Sacred Space and Plant, and Bad Ass Vegan John Lewis.
The winning burger featured a Field Roast patty topped with Just Egg, a hash brown, and maple "bacon" all grilled up on a locally-made L'Artisane croissant.
And, in a moment that will go down in Seed history, Green Bar & Kitchen co-owner Charlie Grippo proposed to partner Elena Pezzo. And she said yes! Congrats to the amazing couple!
The audience also got to vote on their fave burgers, and they picked Denver's Meta Burger for first place, Green Bar for second, and Planta South Beach, third.
Honestly though, ALL of the burgers were amazing!
Other fantastic contenders included Chef Sol (Miami), Bubbles and Pearls (Wilton Manors), Soul Tavern (Miami), Burgerlords (Los Angeles), Drink Mycotea (Vero Beach), Arlo's Curbside Kitchen (Austin), Vegan Junkie (Miami), and Sparrow Lane.
