Three Places to Get Delicious Dairy-Free Coffee in Miami
Cow's milk is on its way out. With close to 70% of the world's population being lactose intolerant, it only makes sense that there'd be a massive shift towards non-dairy options. And stats show that non-dairy milk sales have grown a whopping 61% over the last five years!
Globally, the plant milk market is set to surpass $34 billion by 2024.
Basically, everyone is drinking nut milk. Or soy milk. Or oat milk. Hell, the sky's the limit when it comes to what plants make tasty milks.
In Miami, non-dairy milks are standard at most coffee shops, but the Magic City is particularly blessed with three coffee shops that specialize in plant-based milks (and other goodies!). Here are the deets:
This charming, retro spot downtown is nothing if not unique. Inspired by Miami's aesthetic of the 70s, 80s, and 90s, it has a deco feel -- so you can sip your non-dairy latte surrounded by style. The cozy coffee shop serves up specialty coffee, teas, matcha, plant-based pastries and more -- plus offers cute, kitschy object d'art for sale like plants, aromatherapy kits, incense, and more. And everything is super Instagrammable, obviously.
Love Life Cafe 2616 NW 5th Avenue, Wynwood As the winners of the 2016 Plant Based Burger Battle, the folks of Love Life are no strangers to creating delicious eats. This year the brand expanded its efforts and opened a standalone cafe serving some of the city's tastiest plant-based creations. Now, the team has opened an on-site addition called Love Life Coffee & Sweets, right behind the eatery. There you can indulge in all kinds of coffee, baked goods, and even non-dairy ice cream. Yum!
2895 McFarlane Rd, Coconut Grove
If you haven't been to vShops -- the world's first (and only) all-vegan food hall -- yet, what are you waiting for? Located in Coconut Grove, the spot has seven different plant-based concepts on site, from ice cream to pizza. And one of the newest? A coffee spot called Morning Glory. Its menu includes flavored, specialty lattes, mochas, teas, and other drinks, including a take on "bulletproof" coffee featuring MCT oil, reishi mushroom, gingko biloba, cacao butter, and sugar-free plant sweetener.
